Amangalla, 120km south of Colombo, resides within the walls of the old Dutch fort in the town of Galle, which bares only two entrances, the British ‘New Gate’ and the Dutch ‘Sea Gate’. All flights arrive into Colombo’s Bandaranaika International airport in the daytime.

Colombo’s Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) is the sole international airport in Sri Lanka and is located about 30km north of the city. Travel time between the airport and the city centre varies between ¾ hour and one hour. The car transfer from BIA to Amangalla takes about three hours.

Sri Lankan Airlines runs a daily Airtaxi service from BIA to Koggala airstrip, a 25-minute drive from Amangalla. The flight time is 45 minutes. Amangalla will arrange complimentary transfers to and from Kogalla by road. Helicopter transfers to Amangalla are available through Deccan Aviation. Amanresorts recommends that guests combine their stay at Amangalla with a visit to Amanwella. The two hour car transfer between Amangalla and Amanwella is US$50++ per car each way. Airport assistance
Guests will be met by an Amanresorts representative upon clearance through customs and escorted to a vehicle for transfer to Amangalla or Amanwella.

For departures, guests will be met by Amanresorts’ airport representative upon arrival at BIA’s departure area. The Amanresorts’ representative will organise a trolley and porter and take care of all porter charges.
