amanjena weddings
For an exotic ceremony, Amanjena, near Marrakech, can arrange a traditional Moroccan wedding. Pink-hued rose petals whose scent fills the air, adorn the various water pools and fountains dotted around the property. Arabian music plays softly in the background as the wedding couple are prepared according to the ancient rites of the harem – with a traditional hammam followed by a massage and henné tatouage. A wedding carriage led by Moroccan chants carries the bride, while her husband-to-be accompanies the musicians on horseback. After the wedding ceremony the couple travels together by carriage while enjoying the traditional after-marriage refreshments of milk, dates and orange-flower water. Rose petals are scattered over them for luck, and, as dusk falls, the wedding party enters the graceful reception tent set in an olive grove. After an exotic feast rounded off with Moroccan tea and pastries, Andalusian music and belly dancers entertain the wedding party well into the balmy night.
- Only non-legally binding ceremonies are available at Amanjena, with a maximum of 100 wedding guests
