Located below the resort, Amankila’s Beach Club is a five minute walk away from a private beach in a peaceful coconut grove. Guests may kayak, sail a Hobie Cat, boogie board or windsurf. Amankila staff will assist guests with water sports and provide lessons or sailing partners if required. Eight secluded bales are set along the beach, each tucked into the foliage.
cruising and snorkeling
For cruising and snorkeling, Amankila offers two outriggers designed after the jukung, a traditional Balinese fishing craft. Aman XII, a 50-foot vessel with a large sundeck and shaded area, is used for daily morning and afternoon cruises. Aman XVI is a 40-foot vessel with sundeck and shaded area used mainly for private sunrise or lunch cruises across to Nusa Penida. Snorkeling equipment is available onboard both boats.
The waters off East Bali boast some of the most beautiful scuba diving sites in Indonesia – with options suited to all levels of experience. The turquoise depths teem with a kaleidoscope of brilliantly coloured fish and corals, and scuba divers from all over Bali descend on these shores to explore the diverse marine life. Dive around magnificent rock pinnacles to catch a glimpse of giant tuna, manta rays and mola mola (oceanic sunfish). Swim through coral gardens to see playful clownfish hiding in sea anemones as well as moray eels, turtles, schooling barracuda and walls covered with hundreds of feather stars. Amankila’s Guest Assistants offer information on all dive sites in the area and can easily make bookings for PADI-certified courses for those wanting to learn to dive or to upgrade their qualifications.
