land activities

Exploring the island of Pamalican by bicycle offers gentle exercise and a fun way to get about. Bicycles are available on a complimentary basis.

nature walks

A walk around the island’s 5.5-kilometre whitesand beach will take about 1½ hours. There are also a number of bush paths and two modest hills to explore. From their heights, at high tide, baby sharks chasing bait fish are sometimes seen in the shallows at Pamalican’s southern end.

bird watching

White-breasted wood swallows, kingfishers, black-naped orioles, sea eagles, egrets and two dozen other species make their seasonal home on Pamalican and its surrounding shores.

turtle hatching

Pamalican is a nesting site for green and hawksbill turtles. Every year from March until October, females come up to the beach at night to lay their eggs. To assist in protecting this endangered species, Amanpulo staff monitor the laying process, before transferring the eggs to a hatchery, located at the Windsurf Hut. Whenever baby turtles are hatching, Amanpulo guests are invited to watch the release of the baby turtles into the sea.

private dining

Picnic lunches and private barbecues may be organised at the Picnic Grove, Gary’s Nest, Lagoon Sala and Island Cave. Picnic baskets may also be delivered to guest casitas.

Study the planets from the Clubhouse poolside, where an 1,800mm x 150mm astronomical refractor telescope is set up. Several times a week, trained staff will point out the glittering constellations above.
