“Although we arrived to a very accurate weather forecast of partly cloudy, after making the final turn into the resort, we knew we chose the right place. Beautiful architecture set amongst a jungle of palm trees, and of course the clear blue ocean water. We stayed at an ocean villa which had its own pool, chefs (yes chefs, plural that is!), and butlers (who are the most skilled and creative people you will ever meet. They carve flowers out of fruits and veggies to create centerpiece arrangements and fold your clothes like they’re made out of silk). The only problem with the villa is you might not ever want to leave it.”

“Such is the discretion of the staff that, had I wished to remain on the steps communing with the elements, I’ve no doubt that nary an eyebrow would have been raised. Now that’s true luxury.”

"En sanskrit, son nom signifie « lieu de paix ». Et c'est ce qu'il est: un hôtel, avec restaurant et spa, caché dans une palmeraie, s'échouant sur une plage de sable blanc à Phuket, en Thaïlande. Une structure qui s'intègre à merveille dans l'environnement naturel sans renoncer à tout type de confort."

"In Sanskrit, its name means «place of piece». That is absolutely what Amanpuri is: a hotel, with a restaurant and a spa, hidden in a palm tree forest, overlooking one of Phuket’s white sand beaches. The resort structure perfectly fits into the natural environment, integrating the best comfort standards."

“I’ve never visited an Aman property that has been out of place with its surroundings. None more so than Amanpuri, the resort that Adrian [Zecha] conceived with architect Edward Tuttle over 20 years ago.  The goal was to build a contemporary hotel that would not be out of place with its surroundings and the location they chose was a coconut plantation, on a cliff overlooking Pansea Beach on the island of Phuket.  Arriving here today is like coming home, even if you’ve never visited before and you are soon into the routine of relaxing, relaxing and then relaxing some more.”
