For an exotic ceremony, Amanjena, near Marrakech, can arrange a traditional Moroccan wedding. Pink-hued rose petals, whose scent fills the air, adorn the various water pools and fountains dotted around the property. Arabian music plays softly in the background as the wedding couple are prepared according to the ancient rites of the harem – with a traditional hammam followed by a massage and henné tatouage.
A wedding carriage carries the bride to her husband-to-be led by Moroccan chants whilst he accompanies the musicians on horseback.
After the wedding ceremony the couple unite travelling by carriage to a traditional reception of milk, dates and orange-flower water. Rose petals are scattered over them for luck.
As dusk falls, the wedding party enter the tented canopies scattered amongst the olive grove for an exotic feast including Moroccan tea and pastries. Andalusian music and belly dancers entertain the wedding party throughout the balmy night.
