Overlooking the ancient Buddhist sanctuary of Borobudur and surrounded by verdant rice paddies, rural villages and dramatic mountains, Amanjiwo is a setting seemingly made for reflection. This coming June, the resort will host His Eminence the 9th Neyphug Trulku Rinpoche – one of Bhutan’s greatest living teachers. During his three weeks at Amanjiwo, Rinpoche will hold a complimentary one-hour meditation session every morning, as well as offering private one-on-one sessions for meditation, life coaching, teaching, temple visits and temple meditation, amongst others.
Known as one of the seven spiritual sons of the Great Terton, Pema Lingpa, Rinpoche is an extraordinarily humble and inspiring master who speaks with compassion and wisdom, interjected with gentle humour.
Amanjiwo is a peaceful retreat paying homage to Borobudur’s graceful architecture. Providing guests with the opportunity for immersion in Javanese culture, the resort offers 31 suites (14 with private pools) and the Dalem Jiwo Suite with two bedrooms and a private pool. Other facilities include a restaurant, bar and terrace with views of Borobudur; a large main swimming pool; library; art gallery; boutique; and tennis court.
“Being near Borobudur one is immersed in the great blessings of all the masters who have practised here before. Anyone who visits this holy place will make a positive advancement in their aspirations to achieve an awakened mind.”
